One of the most exciting things we have to offer at the Northern Film School - apart from our experienced and dedicated staff, great facilities and talented student body - is the fact that we are in a region, and a city, that is the best that the UK has to offer for filmmakers. That's why so many feature films and drama productions choose to shoot here.
We are at the geographical centre of the UK, two hours by train from London and Edinburgh; at the heart of the country's motorway network; and within 40 miles of four major airports.
The region has it all. Craggy dales, wild moorland; rolling dales; magnificently preserved stately homes; gritty urban streets; unspoilt fishing villages; ruined abbeys; cliff edged beaches and sand dunes.
Leeds itself is a vibrant and historic industrial city - which includes the only 35mm film lab outside of London. A hub of student life, of regional culture and international hospitality, there are libraries and art galleries, the West Yorkshire Playhouse, Opera North, the Northern Ballet Theatre - all within walking distance of the Northern Film School.
